New Smart Tickets – Smart Cards – Vending Machines

What is the new smart ticket?

It is the upgrade of the old paper ticket. By taking advantage of new technologies, issuing and using it becomes an easy matter, offering flexibility to the passenger public.

What are its benefits?
– Convenience in issuing it 24 hours a day
– Possibility of multiple recharges on the same ticket
– Save multiple routes, based on personalized needs
– Check remaining routes through the automatic ticket sellers,
either through the user’s phone or computer

Available ticket types

The new ticket is available in two types:
Non Personalized(in the form of a paper ticket or a plastic card without its owner’s details) Valid only for full value ticket purchases (100%) and only for travel packages.
Personalized(exclusively in the form of a plastic card with the owner’s details) Applies to individual ticket purchases including special categories (eg students, large children, etc.) or time-duration packages (eg 30-day duration)

Personalized cards can only be used by their rightful owners and not by third parties.

The special categories that are entitled to a reduced fare (Students, Students, those with many children, etc.) must issue a personalized plastic card (BUS CARD).
The personalized card is issued at the head office, Metropolitan Methodi 2
and at the central publishing house (Saroko Square). More information at www.astikoktelkerkyras.gr

Personalized cards can only be used by their rightful owners and not by third parties.

Vending Machines – Features Available

• Issuance of a paper ticket (not personalized). For the 1st edition
paper ticket you need to buy a package of at least 4 tickets
• Recharge tickets and cards. Purchase of either route packages
or time duration packages (eg 30 days)
• Update the balance of the user’s active packages

Card and ticket top-ups are also available at the Saroko Square ticket office

Payment Methods
• in cash
• by bank card (debit or credit)

Documents for issuing a new card (personalized)
• physical presence of the interested party
• identity card
• student pass | student card | multi-child card
(depending on the category to which the interested party belongs)

• Each ticket or card must be charged with tickets of a single zone (eg Zone A)
• Recharging an active package is also possible before it expires and only if the same product is selected (on paper tickets)
• Updates on the rest of the routes or the remaining days are done through our website, through the vending machines and through the validation machines inside the bus.

Tickets Informations

Passengers should purchase tickets at the ticket kiosks next to the stops before boarding the bus. (Ticket machines, kiosks, etc.)

On the bus, tickets are sold at a higher price according to the law. 

Tickets, except for the daily tickets, are valid for one trip only.

Ticket prices are determined according to the decisions of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and for urban transport in Corfu there are two zones
